What is a TAD more faith?
All my life I have enjoyed writing. When I was younger, I would write silly stories about friendships or becoming famous. As I got older, those stories turned into tales of finding love, losing love, and wanting love. The stories, characters, plots, and outcomes changed often. Honestly, I cannot say that I ever saw one of these stories through to the end. Needless to say, the one constant throughout my "writing career" is that I have always written down my prayers. Those prayers turned into a story. For the first time in my life, I was writing a book that I knew I wanted read by others. For the first time, I was writing about something that is a constant in my life. And that is God.
While writing about one specific topic of His greatness, I realized I had other topics I wanted to explore and share. The suggestion of starting a blog was one I pushed against for a long time. It was the kind of suggestion where your head says "no way do you have time for that" while your heart is saying "that's exactly what you need to do". My head (really my schedule) and my heart fought that battle for a long time. It wasn't until I had a friend, whose opinion I deeply trust, look me right in the eye while standing in line for a Sprinkles cupcake and say, "Taylor Ann you are not going to like this (because I had already said to her a million-and-one times that I was not going to start a blog) but you need to start a blog."
That was all it took. For some reason, from that day on, this blog has controlled my every thought. I feel like it's right where I need to be.
If you haven't picked up on it yet, the TAD in "a TAD more faith" stands for my initials...Taylor Ann Dietrich. Another suggestion from a friend: that my blog name played on the word "tad".
My goal for this webpage is to encourage others to see the greatness in themselves, or the greatness they can become, through my journey of faith. In this world, it is very easy to not feel like you are not enough. To not feel good enough to our friends, our co-workers, our family, or even complete strangers. But you are enough. God made you - he created you to live out this amazing plan he has for your life.
So, if I can tell a story about a situation in my life, or a friend's life, and it encourages you to have a TAD more faith in God or in yourself, then I have accomplished the goal of this blog. I am here to lift you up, make you aware, and help you have faith that God has got your back 24/7.
